Coastal College Advising helps high school students and their families with the college search and application process. With experience both as a high school college counselor and admission officer, I have a comprehensive and experienced perspective on the college admission process. This allows me to be an empathetic guide to students and families in one of the most exciting steps in a person’s life, and what can seem like a monumental process. Navigating the college admission journey begins with successful exploration, a student-centered process, and informed choices. This is at the heart of Coastal College Advising’s approach and it is my goal to help students realize all they have to offer and find the best possible “fit” as they explore their post secondary options.

Kristen Pett is a rare find in college counseling, with not only her detailed and lengthy experience with US high schools and colleges, but her ability to connect equally well with students and parents.

She gets that ‘fit’ means academically, culturally, emotionally, and financially and has the background to help students with each piece. Her excellent and deep relationships with college admission officers, and what they are looking for, lends to both a thoughtful and strategic approach.

[Kristen’s] years of experience and unerring guiding eye to the entire process, our daughter successfully applied to several colleges that best fit her goals. Not only did she receive help in organizing her accomplishments, possible choices of colleges were thoughtfully considered and evaluated within a big picture perspective that Kristen was able to provide. Kristen was always willing to listen to my parental questions and concerns with a compassionate ear and offer clarity and sound counsel. Thank you, Kristen, for making this daunting task doable and exciting!
